Youth Worker & AI Trainer
The path so far
I studied at ASPAITE as an electrical engineer and educator in electronics. It taught me two things I still use every day: how to take a system apart to understand it, and how to explain it to someone meeting it for the first time.
I entered the youth field the way many people do, as a participant. Youth exchanges and training courses showed me a kind of learning I had not met in a lab or a lecture hall, one where the group is the curriculum. I connected that experience with my background in education and technology, and I have not looked back.
Seven years later, I have participated in more than 85 programmes, coordinated more than 30 and worked as a trainer in more than 17. I work as an independent professional with organisations in Greece and abroad, and I have collaborated with more than ten companies and organisations in education, among them Amazing Youth AMKE.
Today I am also the president of CLARITY Greece, the Center for Learning, Action, Reflection, Innovation, Training & Youth AMKE, a newly established education organisation. And I have completed a year-long Training of Trainers learning path, in which my work on AI for youth workers took its current shape.
Why AI? Because young people and youth workers are already using it, mostly alone and mostly unguided. I would rather we learn it together, by doing, with our critical sense switched on.

Dimitris Maniatakos is a youth worker, trainer and facilitator based in Greece, specialising in practical AI for youth work, experiential education and Erasmus+ project coordination. Trained as an electrical engineer and educator in electronics at ASPAITE, Dimitris entered the youth field through youth exchanges and training programmes and has seven years of experience: participation in 85+ programmes, coordination of 30+ and a trainer role in 17+. Dimitris works as an independent professional with organisations in Greece and abroad and is president of CLARITY Greece, a newly established education organisation.
